HOW MANY DO I NEED?
One per batch. An Archive Sheet is the permanent record of a batch: you fill it while the wine is being made, and keep adding to it for as long as you're drinking it.
Sheets come five to a pack, tabbed as a set: the tabs are staggered so all five sit visible down the edge of the binder. Add a pack and you add five more tabs, so a binder stays navigable however many batches deep it gets.
THE FRONT: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
Materials and suppliers with expiration dates. The grape. Then readings at each phase; Brix, pH, TA, temperature; with the target ranges printed alongside, so you can see at a glance whether a number was where it should have been.
Every phase has a date field and a space for what the wine tasted like at that point. Ten batches in, that's a record you can actually compare against, because every batch was recorded the same way.
THE BACK: THE FUN PART
Most winemaking records stop at bottling. This one keeps going.
The back of the sheet is a full tasting page: body, sweetness, tannin, acidity, aromas, clarity, color, viscosity. Plus room for several separate tastings. Who you drank it with. Where. What you ate. What you thought.
Open a bottle at one year and write it down. Open another at three and write that down too, on the same sheet. That's how you find out what your wine does with age, and it's the part no notebook ever captures.
THE RECIPE CARD GOES HERE
Each sheet has a marked area sized for that batch's Recipe Card. Recipe Cards are stickers: when the wine is bottled, the card comes off the Tracker, the backing comes off the card, and it goes here permanently.
Plan and record, on one page, under one batch number.
MADE FOR THE VAULT
Heavy stock, three-hole punched, with a staggered tab on each sheet for the batch number, so you can find one batch among fifty without flipping through the whole binder. Archive Sheets never go near the wine, so they're paper rather than vinyl: better to write on, and built to survive years of handling.
