HOW MANY DO I NEED?

One per vessel, not one per batch. Count your fermenters, carboys, and demijohns, and that's your number. Mounts are permanent; install once and every vessel in your cellar is tracking-ready from then on.

INSTALLATION

Peel the protective film, press firmly into place. That's it: no straps, no tools, no fitting.

Mounts use 3M VHB adhesive, the same bonding tape used in automotive and architectural assembly, and they hold to glass and plastic alike across a range of vessel diameters. Carboys, demijohns, fermenting buckets: if you own it, a Mount goes on it.

Installation is permanent by design. Mounts live on the vessel, not the batch, so one you install this season is still doing its job in ten years.

LOW PROFILE

Small and flat by design. A Mount doesn't catch a hose, crowd a label, or get in the way when you're cleaning or stacking carboys.

MAGNET STRENGTH

Strong enough to hold a Tracker through a full fermentation cycle, including moves and racking. Trackers pull off cleanly: swapping one between vessels takes about a second.

CELLAR-PROOF

Powder-coated aluminum, chosen for the environment it lives in. Cellars and garages mean humidity, temperature swings, spilled must, and sanitizer on everything. Aluminum doesn't rust, and the powder coat takes the rest. A Mount that goes on a carboy this year looks the same after a decade of vintages.

WARNING — INTERNAL INJURY HAZARD

Compass Mounts and Trackers contain strong neodymium magnets, permanently set into the aluminum.

Swallowed magnets can damage internal organs and have resulted in death and serious injuries. These are not toys. Keep away from all children and pets.

Never put magnets near your mouth or nose. If you think a magnet has been swallowed, seek immediate medical attention or contact poison control right away — X-rays or prompt surgical removal may be required. Do not wait for symptoms. Symptoms are often non-specific (abdominal pain, fever) and can take hours to weeks to appear, by which point damage can be severe.

The magnets in Compass products are bonded in place and not intended to be removed. If a magnet ever works loose, stop using that Mount or Tracker, retrieve the magnet, and store it away from children — then get in touch and we'll replace the part under warranty.

Also keep Mounts and Trackers clear of pacemakers, defibrillators and other implanted medical devices, and away from credit cards, hard drives and other magnetic media.
