YOU'LL WRITE IT DOWN LATER

That's the promise every winemaker makes at the start of a batch, somewhere between pitching the yeast and cleaning up. And most of the time it doesn't happen. Not because you don't care, but because there's nowhere obvious to put it. So the details live in your head, then in a note on your phone, then nowhere. Come February, when the wine is good and you want to know why, the answer is a shrug.

Recipe Cards and Archive Sheets fix that with paper, not discipline. One card to follow while you're making it. One sheet to keep once you're done.

THE RECIPE CARD: WHAT TO DO, IN ORDER

Every essential step of making wine, distilled by a home winemaker with more than a decade of vintages behind him, laid out in sequence. Check them off as you go. The common optional steps are there too, marked as optional, so you can adapt without losing the thread.

It's the difference between remembering what comes next and knowing it. One card per batch: it stays with the wine from crush to bottle.

THE ARCHIVE SHEET: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED

The Recipe Card is the plan. The Archive Sheet is the record. Dates, readings, additions, the calls you made and why. All of it in one place, in a consistent format, so next season's batch has something real to compare against.

Ten batches in, that's the thing you'll actually value: not one good bottle, but a record of how you got there.

AND THE TWO BECOME ONE PAGE

Recipe Cards are stickers. When the batch is bottled, the card peels off and sticks into the marked area on that batch's Archive Sheet.

The plan you followed ends up permanently attached to the record of what happened: one page, one batch, nothing to file and nothing to lose.

THEN THE FUN PART

The back of every Archive Sheet is built for drinking the wine. Tasting notes, food pairings, what it was like at one year and at three. Most winemaking records stop at bottling. This one keeps going, and it turns a shelf of bottles into a story you can read.

START HERE, ADD HARDWARE LATER

This bundle is complete on its own. Recipe Cards and Archive Sheets work with whatever vessels you already own, no installation, nothing to fit.

When you want tracking on the vessels themselves, the Compass: Hardware Bundle adds it. Mounts attach to your carboys and fermenters; a Tracker carries your Recipe Card and moves with the wine every time you rack. The paper you're already using slots straight in.
